About Grand River Organics
Grand River Organics grew from the idea of connecting communities with local, sustainably grown, organic food from family farms in the Perth, Waterloo, and Wellington Regions of Southwestern Ontario. They began offering a seasonal box of organic produce grown by a few local farmers in 2009. Since then they have extended to offer a year-round box with an increasing variety of local fruits and vegetables from an expanding group of organic growers within the Grand River watershed.
The Grand River watershed, the largest in southern Ontario, covers over 6,800 square kilometers from the highlands of Dufferin County to Port Maitland on Lake Erie. The many creeks, streams, and rivers that form its tributaries supply the drinking water for more than one million people. Their organic growers are committed to ecosystem integrity and their farming practices are compatible with their need to maintain long-term sustainability of our natural resources.
They recognize that they are fortunate to live in this region and are proud to identify with the Grand River and all who live within its watershed. A portion of our proceeds is donated to the Grand River Conservation Foundation to support its commitment to developing a sustainable community for future generations.
